For the twelfth successive year we are delighted to announce the annual One Welsh Public Service Leaders' Winter School.
Building on its success since 2011, the programme has been specifically designed in response to the key development needs of Wales’ most senior leaders, and those working within the top three tiers of Welsh public service and voluntary organisations.
Drawing upon the knowledge and expertise of a renowned community of international speakers, the overarching theme for Winter School this year is ‘Leading for All – Renew, Recover, Regenerate - a path towards the emergent future’.
One Welsh Public Service

Benefits to you
For many senior leaders Covid-19 continues to present challenges unlike any other we have faced in recent times and continues to lead to prolonged uncertainty.
This 4-day programme will focus on the future of leadership within public services in Wales, and what this means in terms of leading out of a crisis, managing change and future proofing public services. It provides an opportunity for leaders, public servants and development practitioners to explore new approaches, as we build a public service that is more confident, whilst instilling strong leadership values to create a shared pathway out of this crisis to an emergent future.
The overarching theme for Winter School captures the essence of the experience we’re seeking to create for leaders so that they are able to; Renew, Recover, and Regenerate – create a path towards the emergent future.
Thoughts from delegates of Winter School 2021 were:
"Excellent and thought provoking two days, covering a wealth of different topics to allow us to become better leaders across Wales." NYAS
"First time, won't be the last time, it was all invaluable." Welsh Government
"It was a privilege and an honour to spend two days with 90+ other leaders from different organisations throughout Wales. The opportunity to network was very entertaining. I felt very lucky to listen to people like Emmanuel Gobillot, Andrew Goodall and Sophie Howe. The status of the training is very high and the standard and quality of speakers is also very high"
"Winter School was a developmental experience in terms of leadership and holding up a mirror in a safe environment with the support of public service colleagues in an unprecedented time of challenge, that will help to improve the way in which we all work in partnership.” NHS Wales
