Overview

Now in its 15th year, we are delighted to announce this year we will be hosting a virtual Summer School, looking back at the wealth of talented inspirational keynote speakers from past events, to create a Summer School designed to support our leadership and learning needs in the current situation.

The virtual Summer School starts at noon on Monday 22 June and ends at noon on Friday 26 June. You can access the virtual event via the Academi Wales website free of charge.

The daily programme will mainly consist of pre-recorded sessions, so you won’t need to apply as in previous years and the session numbers aren’t restricted; you’ll be able to access the content at a time that’s convenient for you and there’s no obligation to take part every day or to watch every session. Each keynote session will include a pre-recorded introduction by a member of the Academi Wales advisory board.

We welcome the opportunity to support our colleagues from across the Welsh public and third sector, and we hope you find our first ever virtual Summer School both enjoyable and insightful!

Target audience

This event is aimed at all public and third sector staff in Wales. You'll get the most out of Summer School if you are a senior manager or leader who influences and shapes the delivery of services, and who is engaged in leading change.

How to apply

You’ll need to sign up to the Academi Wales website to view most of the Summer School sessions. You can sign up if you work in a public service organisation or registered charity operating in Wales.

Do I need to apply?

You don’t need to apply for this year’s virtual Summer School. Just sign up to our website to create an account and you’ll be able to watch our pre-recorded sessions as we publish them each day.

We’re also running some live online sessions during Summer School – you can find them on our upcoming events page. You’ll need to sign up for an account and then apply for each of the sessions that you’d like to join.

Our live sessions have limited spaces, and we’ll accept applications on a first-come first-served basis.

What's the timetable?

There isn’t a strict timetable – each day we’ll list several curated sessions linked to the conference theme, and you can watch whichever sessions interest you at a time that suits you best

Do I need to take time off work to take part?

The Summer School doesn’t require you to take time off work - we have designed it so that you can access it whenever it’s convenient for you
