Overview

For the eighth successive year we are delighted to announce the annual Wales Public Service Winter School.

Building on its success since 2011, we have specifically designed the programme to meet the key development needs of Wales' most senior leaders, and those working in the top three tiers of Welsh public service and voluntary organisations.

The event will focus on ‘The Leadership Challenge - from efficient to exemplary’.

Benefits to you

This unique ‘stretch’ programme is an opportunity to review and refresh your current skills and gain insight into cutting edge leadership practices. You will explore innovative ways to ‘deliver the business’, using a wealth of global knowledge and experience.

This residential immersive learning event takes place at Nant Gwrtheyrn, the Welsh language centre in North Wales.

"Thought provoking, inspirational and motivation analysis that equips you to strive towards a real change. After Winter School there is no excuse, the only barrier left will be yourself." St David’s Hospice

"A superb learning experience with great people, pressing the pause button on the day job having time to think was of huge personal benefit." Dyfed Powys Police

"Fantastic! A brilliant practical course that provides opportunities to network with others to reinforce or challenge your ideas." Denbighshire County Council

There are limited places available for this opportunity and they are awarded through an application process.

Cost

The cost for attendance at Winter School is £500 + VAT. This covers a contribution towards the learning costs for the event. The cost of accommodation and food is fully subsidised and is included within this fee.

Your travel costs will not be met by the programme. A limited number of bursary places may be available to third and voluntary sector organisations on request.

Please note: If you are awarded a place and later decide to withdraw from the programme, we reserve the right to charge your organisation for the full cost, please see our website for further information.

Accommodation options and discounts

The number of applications we receive for Winter School well exceeds our expectations in terms of standard and volume.

To address this, and to help organisations with their in-house selection processes and the demand for places, we are able to offer the following options to increase the allocation of places.

How to apply

There are a limited number of places available, which will be awarded through a competitive selection process.
